Alcohol lovers Rejoice!

Can I drink alcohol and still lose weight? 
 
The answer is a YES. 
 
Alcohol contains high calories, affects your testosterone levels negatively and impedes nutrients absorption. And if you consume high calories food while drinking alcohol, which adds to the overall calories count, you may gain weight.
 
Doesn't sound like the answer is YES, does it? 
 
What research does not tell you is that there are many reasons why people drink alcohol despite all the negatives. Drinking alcohol could be one way to relieve stress, allows one to sleep better, for socialising, and the list goes on. One just needs to know how to manage the intake. 
 
To optimize your health and fitness while still enjoying the occasional alcohol, here are 3 practices that you can adopt: 
 
1. Choose unmixed alcohol which are lower in calories such as Vodka, Whiskey, Tequila, Wines 
2. Consume food 1 hour before drinking or partying, a fuller stomach will naturally reduce your consumption later on. 
3. Recognise that alcohol contains calories (7 calories per gram). Drink in moderation and adjust your calories intake subsequently.
 
Remember, you are always in control.
