gas

Do you know,
If you see someone who is stressed out, please tell them to relax. You will be surprise how many people don’t know about this.
Ok, I’m kidding.
Continue reading to find out more about "GAS".

WHAT IS “GAS”?

"GAS" stands for General Adaptation Syndrome.
Dr. Hans Selye first coined GAS, otherwise known as the ‘stress response system”, which involve 3 phases.
1. Alarm Reaction Stage: Body’s initial response to new stimulant
2. Resistance Stage: Subsequent response to new stimulant.
3. Exhaustion Stage: Result of prolonged resistance stage. Body no longer has strength to fight stress.
Research has shown that these stages are typical response to stress, and we are not alone in going through these stages.
Stressors can come in many forms, which include training, a new task given by the boss, medical or family situations.
When given enough time, even though we may experience exhaustion over time, we will eventually develop new resistance to the stimulant given.
Take training for example. Remember the first workout you did?
It was hard as hell, but now your workouts feel easier, don’t they?
This is us.
This is life.
What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger!
Alright, now back to telling people to relax when they are stressed 😏
